Tools already used in ITP project
In our ITP project we used brainstorming tool to get member’s
creative ideas to choose a topic, technologies and databases we used in this
project. It was very easy to present our ideas about technologies without any
issues with using this tool.
We used affinity grouping to group our ideas about
technologies and created a new structure. It was very helped in creating a path
to our project.
Finally, we used multi-voting to select languages to our
project. By this tool we selected the best and easy languages to our project.
Most of our team members voted Node java script language and React java script
language. This was best tool that we used in making decisions in our group.
We used these tools to create our project.
Reflective Journal
Description
In our SLIIT Information Technology Project group we had to
select languages and databases to our group project. In this subject we have
not any mid exam or final exam. Because of that we must get good marks when
creating this project. Implementing the code for the project is the most
important part in this project. So, we must choose wisely about the languages
and databases we used in this project. This was a huge turning point in our
project.
We did not know about multi-voting tool, but we used this
tool without knowing. All the members in my group suggested about this method.
Feelings
As the leader of my group project, I felt it was a very
practical method and easy to use it. Everyone had their chances to express
their ideas freely. I think all my team members was very happy and satisfied with
this method. I think feel free to express ideas in a group is the best thing
when discussing huge things like this.
Evaluation
It was a very good experience to all members in my group
because all members had their chances to vote and express their ideas. Voting
is the best part in this method. This whole thing went very well as this a most
valuable tool in making decisions.
Analysis
All things about selecting the languages and databases
happened successfully because all members had their freedom when voting. This
made us think about the importance of respecting each member’s ideas. I think
that is also a reason to become success in this step. We had a great
understanding about each member in that moment and got a chance to know about
them very well.
Conclusion
With this professional skills lecture about decision making, we got a lot of knowledge about decision making in a group and got familiar with the tools. With using these new tools, we had chances to manage our works perfectly. But now we have our chance to use these tools and methods in our future group works and in the professional world.
Action plan
First, we must plan about the times we need to get access to
these tools. With using these new tools, we have a good chance to make our
group works successful. When this kind of very valuable situation happens, we
must apply these tools and methods to turn the situation to the right path. By
learning professional skills subject very well, we can get success in our
carrier life and become an important part in our society.
