Difficulties faced on during Group Projects and how we managed to get rid of them using methods

Code name of the project – ITP2021_S2_B02_G15 

Agreed communication method – Generally our team members communicate via Ms Teams and Whatsapp. 

Mission – Our mission is to create a web application for a supermarket system. 

My Task – I manage the administration management system function. In that function it manages all the members in the supermarket system, manage necessary updates related to the system. 

My deliverables – I generate a report related to the staff members and deliver a code about the system.

Personal facts of them – 

Hiruni Mudannayake 

Hiruni is a very talented person in understanding about subject materials. With this knowledge she can handle the project easily. She is also a very kind person, so she can communicate with others easily. 

Navindu Adikari 

Navindu is a very creative person, so he creates creative project ideas. He also like to help others because of that he has a good relationship with other members. Gaveshini Samarawikrama Gaveshini is a very smart person, so she can handle problems about the group easily. She is also a risk-taking person because of that she can handle any situation easily. 

Buddhi Kaushalya 

Buddhi is very attractive person, so he can control the members as a leader. He is also very funny person because of that he can make everyone happy. 

Malith Dayanga 

Malith is a very self-controlled person, so he is very patient in everything. He is also very silent one because of that he can think a lot while others speaking. 

Manthila Nethmi 

Manthila is a very trustworthy person, so anyone can trust her when they are in problems. She is also a very calm person because of that she is very attractive to the others.

Reflective Journal 

Description 

Earlier my new team members did not like to share group works according to the skills they really have. They did not like to select complex functions and tried to take easy ones. This was a huge problem to my group. Because of this problem our group assignment marks were very low. 

Feeling 

There was a problem in the group when sharing Information Technology Project works with members. There were few members that had some issues in coding and some other complex things. So, I had planned to share our works according to our talents as in the previous semester. But this new group members did not like to think about other members. I felt bad about the situation, but I was not able to do anything about that. 

Evaluation 

Even though I suggested to share group works according to the skills members really have, other members did not care about my opinion. At that time, they only thought about themselves, because of that our members got lower marks. If the members in our group helped each other during the projects, marks will be higher. After all this other team members also felt bad about the situation. 

Analysis 

Our group members were very selfish in that period, and they even did not know how to communicate with each other and treat other members nicely. I think it happened because their previous groups were also like that. I think because of this pandemic season they did not find a way and time to know each other, so that is the main reason for this. I think we can get rid of this by creating a good friendship among team members because there are so many groups that have a good bond among members and their marks were also higher than us. 

Conclusion 

Our group members can try different methods to get rid of this because without a bond between members there would not be anything change in our future assignment marks. 

Action Plan 

First, we must identify about the things that the team members mostly like and talented. Then we must try to respect about each other’s ideas. After all of this we must increase the time duration in our group calls. During group calls members must share their life experiences with other members. We also must discuss about other groups and analyse them. After this plan I hope my team will become successful.
